When we went, my twins were not quite 18 months old. I was definitely worried that they would get hungry and have a meltdown before we could get home, so I stashed fruit leather and granola bars inside of my purse. We had the first slot of the day, so I also had some Ziploc bags of dry cereal that they were eating as we waited in line, because it was so early that they didn't eat very much of their breakfast before we left. When we got to the gate, I was about to have them throw it out, but the security person said "oh, if it is for the kids then don't worry about it" and waved us through. My guess is that they are more concerned about people bringing alcohol or people packing a massive picnic and planning to eat it after their timeslot is over.

Have to agree. If you are stuffing good in your child every 30 minutes they are not learning hunger and the signs of it. Your child will not die without a snack.

OP, take some snacks for the line. You might have to chuck them at security, but it's worth the risk.

To the PPs who are pissing on this woman for asking this question, get over yourselves. A snack for a toddler to avoid a meltdown during a potentially long unpleasant wait in line is not the cause of the nation's obesity epidemic. If you really think that is the case, you need some help.

Finally, to the OP and others, the unfortunate reality is that the WH Easter egg roll is not actually a super family friendly event. All the activities are geared toward families but the hassles involved with the event itself make it a bit challenging for parents of little kids. I'm not blaming anyone or even criticizing - it's just a function of the security environment today. Some of it is also luck of the draw - the one time we went, we had an insane wait (2 hrs). I don't think that's the norm, but it's not unheard of either.
