OP here, it has now been one week on Proactive. My skin is looking MUCH better. I was skeptical; now I'm impressed.
I will use it for the time being. I'll check into some of your other recommendations too. Thanks! |

So I've been using this stuff for a few weeks now. I LOVE it. I am pimple free, and I haven't been able to say that since I was like 13. It did not overly dry my skin. It does bleach towels. But who cares about your towels when you can get rid of your zits, finally??? And no I am not getting any kind of commission for saying this.
I combined this witha suggestion from this board - Revitalift for my crinkling eyes and I am looking really good. |
| If you have acne AND wrinkles, there is nothing better than Retin-A. If you didn't like Retin-A at the higher strength prescribed for young people with acne, you'll like the lower wrinkle/acne strength prescribed for people our age. Seriously, much more a total skin plan than Proactiv. |
| Hmmm, I may have to try that1 Thanks 16:36 |
I was using Murad but I switched to AcneFree one month when I was a bit low on funds. Good stuff. I really like their two step peel. |
| I've been using proactive for years, after many, many years of various prescription and non-prescription meds. It's been terrific for my skin, and people seem very surprised when I say I had severe acne through my mid-20s. Regarding the towels, it does bleach out natural dyes, including, for example, the wonderfully soft towels from Restoration Hardware. So long as I use towels that aren't vegetable dyes, though, there's been no problem. The same is true for sheets. So, we have white and cream sheets as a result. One thing to watch out for is using it when staying at someone else's house. I bleached a beautiful, expensive sheet and pillow case at a friend's vacation home. Both embarrassing and a pain to replace. |
