Is it appropriate for me to correct another child talking bad about friends?

My son has a speech delay and thank you wholeheartedly for trying to teach your son's friend that it is not OK to make fun of kids for that.

Of course. Your house, your rules.

I wouldn't have a problem defending my actions to correct any kids behavior if they are disrespectful but you know how some moms can be. "My son, my problem. Stay out of it."

I wouldn't tell the other mom. It's your rule and your house only.

In your presence, in your house - yes

Not the OP, but I would gladly have another parent reprimand my child if he were behaving in such an ill manner. If any of my friends have a problem with me reprimanding their children in kind, I have yet to hear of it. It takes a village.
