Oh, so maybe you were the one writing those posts. |
All I have to say is Thank God Franco Harris hasn't lost his marbles ![]() Once again, Why, Lord, Why?!?? |
What would have happened if the Steelers showed up an hour late for their lunch? |
Do you feel the same way about Obama and his administration who show up late routinely for press conferences, announcements, etc. Letting reporters and other wait around until they decide to show up. |
Both of the above make good points; this sword does not seem to cut both ways |
The press is paid to do sit there and wait. The White House does not need to go on the podium on cue like a stage performer. They need to govern. Reporters need to make their deadlines, and the White House is respectful of that. But do you really think the White House Press Corps is miffed if they wait ten minutes for the President to speak? Or do you think they were more upset that Bush would pretty much only go up on the podium for Groundhog Day? |
Being timely is professional. It shows self-respect and respect for those you have an appointment with. I think the reason we are willing to cut the Kindergarteners some slack is they children suffered for a situation they had no control over. I am sure they all got up, brushed their teeth, and put their best foot forward. Regarding the folks who work in the White House, there are people paid to keep their calendars. If they do not want to follow calendars and schedules, perhaps we should not be picking up the dime for scheduling secretaries and they can use their blackberries and roll in when they like, no questions asked. And yes, you would think they would be more sympathetic to late arriving kindergarteners. |
