+1 to much advice above!! Plus she told your brother not you. This will out your brother and f up your relationship with him too. Don't do any of this. |
OP: He told me this 3-4 years ago, about 1-2 years after the original event. I was thinking of just keeping it in my back pocket in case she truly hits below the belt, then I could pull it out. |
I see you have retained nothing of what the previous posters had told you. |
You're not getting it. Read the previous posts. Doing this makes you as immature as she is. |
Sounds like you already are keeping it in your back pocket! |
Why not just tell her you think she's ugly? Same effect. Jesus OP. |
The sad part is that her son (and any other children) are also watching and learning this type of behavior....just like OP did from her mother. |
How did she treat you when your son was born, OP? |
op: He was my 3rd baby, I nursed all of them, so I knew something was wrong when he stopped nursing at 3 days old. Mom thinks bf'ing is for nut jobs. She laughed at me with my dad and even got my husband to join their point of view that I was just being neurotic. I had to bring him to the ER, and he had 2/3 of his large intestine removed to save his life. |
I suggested this above, but I really do think therapy is in order here. You have serious problems with your mother. It's time to deal with them. Once you do, you'll see how silly it is that you are essentially trying to store emotional weapons to combat her at some point in the future. This is not healthy behavior. |
Agreed. Just reading OP's post made me feel dirty. I would only USE this knowledge to start a conversation with your mom so that maybe she can apologize to you firsthand. Giving her that opportunity might be an opportunity for you both to heal. But it's so creepy the way you immediately think about this nugget of intel as a commodity you'll use to inflict pain. OP, take a look in the mirror. You're a mother now. Stop this cycle of shitty soap opera behavior. |
So you showed her, right? Come on, OP. You need therapy. You haven't forgiven you mother yet, and I can understand why. But have it out with her. Don't connive ways to "get her back." |
Yuck. What the hell is wrong with you? Just stop. Get over it or take some healthy steps to get past this. |
I don't get it. Your mother admitted she treated you wrong. You won. Why do you need ammunition. Have a victory round. Put the past in the past. |
OP, are you 3? |
