How many of your kids went to NCRC, Little Folks or Aidan?

I'd say 30-40ish% or so of my kids' classmates went to one of these schools + St. John's (NCRC and St. John's seem to be the most prevalent- I'm not sure any went to Aidan). There's a decent showing from St. Columba's too. We went to one of the CC schools.

No. GDS PK.

Two kids at Potomac, and they both went to a no name, play based preschool. They got in everywhere they applied, so I really don't think the preschool helped or hurt in any form.

Headed to Sidwell and -- gasp -- wait-listed at NCRC.

Like PP, waitlisted at NCRC, headed to NCS

Wish I could have told myself way back when not to sweat nursery school. There are so many great places it really doesn't matter where your child went. Plenty of kids from day care at all the privates too.

I agree with your first comment but not the last. I can not think of a single kid at my kids' privates that I know was in "daycare" rather than a private nursery school/preschoool program. There is a vast difference between daycare and nursery/preschool and few of the private school kids I know were ever in day care. Most had SAHMs, and/or nannies, and also went to a 2-5 day week, couple of hours a day preschool, like St John's, NCRC, St Columba's, Little Folks, Metropolitan, Palisades Co-Op, etc... I am not saying this to be oblivious or snotty, and of course there are several kids whose parents I do not know well and don't know what they did prior to Pre-K or K but, I do know most and they all went to playgroups like Blue Igloo or Intown and then private nursery school and then started at a private school in PK or K.
