YMCA Camps-some offer Family Camps. I believe there is one in Pittsburgh.

OP, look into Powhatan Plantation. You can get a 2br for about $200/night. Less for a 1 br. You are a 1-minute drive away from a Target and Martin's (grocery store.) The pool is really nice, there is free mini golf on site and the grounds are lovely. Its a quick drive to Busch/Water Country/Colonial Williamsburg/William & Mary. Request a rennovated unit.

Hilton Head, SC. We rented a small house in Sea Pines. The whole family loved the place. Beaches are beautiful and not too crowed, and the area is very pretty. You can just park your car and go pretty much everywhere by bike, there is a pleasant harbor town with nice restaurants, and it is very family friendly.

+1 on Powhatan. We are doing a week in Williamsburg this summer with kids 6 and 4. Just got tickets to go to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Expecting to spend less than $2000.

We stayed on a couple of small farm B and B places near Hershey - the kids got to gather eggs from the chickens, feed the goats (and chickens) and ride the donkey. It was fantastic and not very expensive at all. Most of them were between Lancaster and York in PA.
