2 year old - pre school or another year in nanny share? WWYD?

I think kids do fine either way. Probably whichever choice you make you will feel like it was definitely the right one.

He turns 2 in August 2016. We will send him to pre-school either private or DCPS depending on choices and lottery the following year.

I would be very hesitant to send a 3 yo to full time DCPS PS3 who had never been in preschool and had only been with a nanny. I think you will want some sort of preschool.

We switched our daughter to daycare at 2 and have been happy with the decision. She started talking much more once the nanny stopped doing everything for her. She is also much more interested in playing with other kids than her former nanny share partner, who stayed on with our nanny. It has been good for her, but she is very outgoing. I would probably do a nanny and part time PS for a kid who was more reserved or who needed less stimulation.
