Sheridan

We got rejected at Sheridan, but accepted everywhere else we applied, including Maret, Beauvoir, and GDS.

My DH thinks they thought that we viewed them as a "safety school." The fact of the matter is that both DH and I found it the warmest of all the schools we visited and would have gone there in a heartbeat. Oh, well.

Speaking from personal experience - your DH is right.

No, at the time the thought didn't occur to us. Wish we had discovered this forum sooner!

Just curious, which school did you end up picking?

Beauvoir. It's been great. But it is much bigger and probably because of this, less warm than Sheridan.

I guess I'm naive, but do parents really write first choice notes? And do these notes really matter?

If you paid an education consultant, they would certainly advise you to write such a note if you in fact have a first choice.

Do you mean wait listed at Sheridan? They, like nearly every other school, wait list everyone rather than actually rejecting them like Sidwell does.
