How much weight did you lose giving up booze?

For me, I don't lose anything when I just diet or just give up booze (even when tracking calories says I should be losing). I have to do both simultaneously. I don't know what it is about my metabolism but it is what it is.

None. And I drink a lot! For me, it is all about the food.

Me too. I gained a lot when I stopped drinking. I never drank beer though, which probably matters.

I decided this week to get rid of my wine habit. If I don't lost ten pounds I'm going to lose my shit!

Happy Fat Tuesday Eve!

10 lbs. But I also cut down on sugar at the same time. I can eat all the potato chips I want and it doesn't come back.

Zero. I also cut out soda for 6 months and didn't lose an ounce. Hypothyroidism is awesome.

No weight loss. But I got my life back

I give up alcohol for lent every year and come out about 10 pounds lighter. It's not from the alcohol itself, it's from the lack of desire to snack while/after drinking.

My DH looks great now that how hardly drinks at all. He was a huge social drinker as were all his friends and family. Many are now alcoholics. The ones that still drink like they are in their 20's are all overweight. His family is all overweight. He is now athletic, fit, and healthy. His close friend who now drinks alcohol every night after work is getting huge and he keeps asking my DH how he stays so fit. My DH just casually says "he cut back on the booze" because he does not want to sound "preachy". But his friends and family just want to live in denial that their weight is not directly related to their alcohol intake.
