oh and to add- there is no reason to not tell your son that your relationship with her mother did not work out and you didn't know he existed. You have every right to tell him this, kindly, without attacking his mother.

agree with this, and also don't tell him about the other candidates. And stop thinking of his child support as funds you could otherwise invest.

You have a remarkable wife. I hope you treasure her because not many women would accept him. I wouldn't because he sounds like a lot of trouble and I would not want him around my children..

This is my worst nightmare, but you're handling it the right way.

File for visitation.

Spend more time with him 1:1 before introducing his younger siblings.

Let your relationship with him grow organically.

Are you serious? I would not want a man who willingly chose not to be a dad to his kids around our kids.

Not sure why everyone is saying that OP is doing the right thing. He hasn't, yet, and it's not certain he will.

Now wait a second--the mommy was such a dirty slut that the actual dad was only her 3rd choice (that he knows about) to do the DNA test and hit "bingo."

No doubt it could have been 10, 20, or 30 guys who fathered the little bastard.

"Son, you mom was a cheap piece of trash that I banged when I was horny a long time ago and basically it's not my fault that your mom was too stupid of a slut to use any birth control. Obviously she should have aborted you and because she didn't, now I'm stuck with the child support."
