Do I need a high chair cover for when we go to restaurants?

I used one and liked it. But had it passed down to me so there is that. I stopped using it once DC turned about 1.

No cover. Used baby wipes on chair and table in front of you son before seating him.

No.

Minimalist life, OP, try it.

OP here. We are minimalists for sure. Very tiny apartment, hardly any plastic toys, excess junk, etc. But there was something about that high chair that grossed me out. Baby wipes it is!

I don't want a chair cover because it's another to wash and I'll probably forget it in the car anyway!

Thanks everyone!

Actually the wipe will help remove a lot of gross stuff, even if it's just a baby wipe. The act of wiping with something wet does remove a good amount of bacteria. You don't need antibacterial wipes (and they are horrible in general, so I don't think we should be using them at all).

You'll get over this. My toddler started mouthing the cart at Target the other day. It was gross, but I only managed to convince her to stop by giving her some goldfish.

Kids are gross.

I used to bring it every time we went out -- now I just bring disinfecting wipes in the diaper bag and give it a quick wipe down. It's a lot less cumbersome.
