It was Boyz II Men.

I want to like this, and i think it's going pretty well, and the sets are great. But somehow it's just not 100% - I think it all comes down to the cast just can't come close to the charisma of the original movie cast. Just not as compelling. Hudgens is good as Rizzo, but not great (and I know about her father, which does make this performance something special). Hough is serviceable. French is fine, but just not....special. It's all just sort of a pale imitation, you know? But it's a good staging of the play - maybe that movie is TOO iconic. But my god travolta in his younger years was mesmerizing- while this Zako is good, and a decent singer, he just can't bring that spark that Travolta had.

But honestly, dreading Joe Jonas and his "band" (DNCE?) instead of sha na na. THAT"S A TRAVESTY!

Yes, it seems like a really good high school production.

Joe Jonas has a mop on top of his head

Why does Aaron Tveit get all these jobs?! This, Les Mis, Catch Me If You Can ... his voice is so mediocre and it's getting overpowered by the instrumentation.

I agree that this really brings out how amazing the originals were.

The movie is too well known. If it's going to be different I'd rather watch it live on stage.

The new cha cha during the dance scene was too distracting. Hopelessly devoted is one of my favorites and it's just not working for me lol

Julianna hough cannot act and her singing pales in comparison to Olivia newton john. I am getting way too distracted by her implants pushed up against the dress.

What happened to Mario Lopez? He used to be gorgeous. Now he's veering into Wayne Newton territory. Still, I think he's doing a good job and I like the production, except for the male lead. Nobody compares to a young John Travolta (who is also bordering on Wayne Newton now).

Vanessa hudgens is holding her own as rizzo. Juliette hough is not bad but everyone else...ugh. The original was so amazing. I think maybe we are too far from the original that it's not resonating. Maybe they need to do an updated grease.

+1 And why is Vanessa Hudgens still around? She's horrific. The girl playing Marty should have been cast as Rizzo.

Ok, my thoughts:
-Juliana Hough was god awful. She should stick to dancing. I thought we'd seen the last of her acting/singing in the awful Footloose remake. She canNOT act and her voice, while not hideous, is not nearly strong enough for this type of thing.

-"Danny" as ok. The Grease Lightening scene was well done and enjoyable.

-I thought Vanessa H. was pretty good.

-Loved the real Frenchy cameo.

-Boys II Men as teen angel = amaze-balls.

I thought "Marty" was almost unwatchable. Jan too. Both horrible casts and painful to watch/listen to.
