It seems like the basic breakdown is if you do physical labor of any type, you are not white collar. If you make money by "thinking" or doing something thinky in a fairly neat office, you are white collar.

Generally speaking anything white collar and at least middle management with exceptions sometimes being made for military and firefighters.

This is 2016. There are very, very few women who would disqualify a guy as dating/marriage material because he's a teacher or works at a nonprofit.
