| Soak in the hottest water you can stand without burning yourself. You only need to soak for a few minutes at a time. Soak it 3 times a day and it will probably clear up in a day or two. |
Thanks, I will try this. The neosporin after the water, or no? |
| Soak in hot saltwater |
| I have this too! I went to a Minute Clinic and they would not give me antibiotics. It also woke me up in the night it was so painful. (That was yesterday.) Today, it still hurts, but the pain is more concentrated in one spot so I'm hoping something is forming there that will allow me to open it up and drain it. Right now, it's just swollen and a little red. No visible pus or anything..) |
| IF it just hurts and there's no pus or swelling, use the neosporin that has pain relief and cover with a tight bandaid. |
| Sorry to bump this old thread, but I think I have this. I drained it myself (I know, shouldn't have) but it still hurts so badly. I have to go out of town Monday. IF I go to urgent care tomorrow can anything be done? |
My dd had this and was in incredible pain. They gave her an antibiotic and lanced it. At least they can prescribe an antibiotic for you tomorrow. |
Soak your finger in very hot water + 2 spoons of saltier cup (even kitchen salt is ok, if you don't have epson) as hot as you can take 5-6 a day 20-25 min sessions. It should get better within 12 hours or so. If condition worsens, go to the doctor. |
| My cousin had this, first round of antibiotics didn't work, admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics... definitely not something to let go |
| Tea tree oil. Let the oil work itself into all the nooks and crannies, cuticles, etc |
|
Mustard oil is another excellent natural home remedy to treat paronychia that can help in removing the infection, and it comes with a bonus of moisturizing your fingers. Soak your fingers in oil for at least fifteen minutes per day.
You can also add lemon oil. If your finger is yellow, do not worry, sometimes it happens, it will run on your own. |
| I have this. Op did this resolve?lol |
No, OP is dead. |
| I was not the OP, but I had this and it was cellulitis and took 3 rounds of antibiotics to resolve. Definitely go to a doctor. |
| Omg really?! My thumb has nothing visible at all just feels throbby. Maybe slightly red on side of nail but no swelling. I will soak and i have rx antibiotic ointment but keeping a close eye. What caused yours? Glad you're ok! |
