Does that budget include the swing space?

To my knowledge all budgets include swing space.

Swing space is not allowed to come out of capital budget.

Is that a new thing? Schools have been told for years that swing space came out of project funds. But I have now heard that is not allowed from several people?

Then where does it come from? Ask those who are providing this new information.

Is the MacFarland renovation getting deferred? I thought renovation was supposed to happen next year, but now it sounds like they'll be moving two schools into the building.

They decided to accelerate the opening of MacFarland MS with the dual language program next fall. Since that won't need all the space it will be shared with MR.

They accelerated starting the program, but I don't think they've renovated yet.

But no worries - when it is time MacFarland can swing to Roosevelt. Bc it will remain woefully under enrolled.

This is all insane.

Do they know for a fact that there is asbestos or other dangerous substances in the building at Marie Reed? I can't imagine why they would want to move the school to an inconvenient neighborhood and screw families over like that. I'd much rather suck it up in trailers than send my kid to school across town. Terrible.
