bring/leave the the car seat if we only have one drive on vacation...?

Okay, but we are talking about a bus. Why would you use a car seat on a bus? Do you use a car seat on a bus when you are at home?

We took our our son on a similar trip at 9 months and will be again at 12 months and we did not or will not be taking the car seat to get to and from the airport. I don't know how people find it easy to cart around a card seat at the airport but I just don't see it. You will be fine and it is way too much of a hassle. You aren't going to use it especially if your child is a lap child on the plane.

Signed, a mom that is cast about her son but also practical and honest

Does anyone just hold their kids in their laps when going from airport to resort while on vacation? (we'll be in one of those resort vans.) Or do you just suck it up and bring the car seat even if only for this one use?

Is the resort in the U.S.? If it is overseas, it's unlikely the van will even have seatbelts for the car seat.

We had that happen in the Caribbean. We lugged booster seats only to find there were no seatbelts.

Where are you going? In San Francisco I was able to find a taxi that provided car seats for extra fare.
