If you had an ultrasound at around 5.5 weeks...

I had one because of spotting. They could see the gestational sac but nothing else. They also could not hear a heartbeat. I had a follow up ultra sound at 9 weeks. Baby is doing great! (I'm not though, lol... Damn you "morning" sickness)

I saw the heartbeat at 5 weeks 5 days but it was super low (88) so it had just started beating.

5.5 weeks is very early. You could have possibly gone in a day later for an u/s and seen the heartbeat. Each day that goes by and you're still pregnant is a good sign. Wishing you the best.

Just wanted to update for those who'd been following. Went in today at 7w1d and we saw a little heartbeat (around 118 bpm which I take to be normal) and a blob measuring around 6w6d. I was feeling really down on myself and starting crying on the table when we saw everything. Naturally I'm now slightly concerned about the rather oblong shaped the sac but I'm trying to reel it in and be happy right now. Suffice it to say this will be a very stressful pregnancy (lost my last at 17w). But right now... I am pregnant. With an actual baby

Thanks for all the encouragement!

Once I saw a heartbeat at 5w2d and the other time I didn't. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but wait.

I never saw a heartbeat with my blighted ovum, and my HCG was high enough that they thought that they'd be able to see something on u/s.

It's still SO early. Wait a week (I know how hard it is), and by then you should see a heartbeat.

Good luck!

This was me. By 6.5 weeks, it was like night and day. The nurse asked me if I'd left my uterus at home the week before... Now 16 weeks, things are good. (Also IVF)
