| I've also had to sit through a sales pitch, in this case for a timeshare my friend's family already own. It took the whole morning. |
|
My FIL did this to get free tickets while at a resort. He had no interest in buying a timeshare. He came out MANY thousands of dollars poorer, and you guessed it, a timeshare owner. They got swindled for sure. Do NOT let anyone who could remotely be talked into a "good" deal go the presentation. I still can not believe my MIL let this happen. They can NOT afford a timeshare and are now locked in for 10 years. Sigh.
I'd never go. Never. The reason. |
| WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS???? A Hampton Inn is like $100/night? |
|
We did one in Vegas, we had a free day, the whole thing took 3 hours I think (including the shuttle to and from the resort) and we each got $100 game play from one of the Casino's (I forget which one at this point, it was 12 years ago). That wasn't a big deal, we were not going to buy, they didn't really pressure us that much, and we went on our way.
For that sort of deal I would imagine a 4-5 hour ordeal. If they only required one adult, we'd probably go for it and DH would attend (no way in hell he would buy anything, much stronger than I). If it required both of us then no. Not worth it. DD is 3.5 and wouldn't do well with an unknown babysitter or kids club type setting. |

I did one last month in hawaii for a highly discounted tour. It was very interesting. Instead of buying into one place you would buy points to be used for vacation spots all over the place. So you were not limited to just one place.
I didnt buy anything but it sounded interesting. |
o Yeah, but OP's offer was plane tickets, a hotel room, and theme park tix for 4 people. That's a pretty sweet freebie. |
