When both parents work, what do you do for summer care?

Some camps, like the Potomac School Camps and Camp Greenway in McLean start registration in January. I'd start compiling a list of camps you might be interested in (based on location or price or whatever criteria you have) the year before you actually need to send your child. Then keep an eye out in the fall for when the registration begins...and bear in mind that many camps do not have sessions in August and those that do fill up early.

Price: it can be pricier than daycare, or not. Depends on what you choose. We do a mix of camps - some expensive, some not. All American Sports Camp is a great deal if you have the right kid for that. Mad Science runs good camps (not cheap).

Eventually there's sleepaway available. $$$$$

Girl Scout camp is a sleepaway option that is not expensive.
