How Many Camps Over the Summer?

My son is going to be a rising second grader. We will probably do at least 5 camps, as we did last year. There are a few specific math and engineering camps he wants to do, and one sports camp.

14 week summer here! It's loooong.
Second and fourth grader.

3 weeks sleepaway
3 weeks family vacation
1 week rock climbing camp
1 week sports camp
1 week grandma camp
5 weeks driving the nanny crazy while whining they are bored.

really depends on your child. Last summer my son was a rising 1st grader and we did one general camp all summer. He doesn't love transitions and while he is a kids who makes friends very easily I knew that a new camp with new counselors every week would be a lot for him.

I also think that at 6 kids tend to not want to do something like soccer 5 days a week.

This summer we may add in a few specialty camps in addition to the general camp he attended last summer.
