Decreased ovarian reserve--what do you wish you had known?

Don't let your RE start you with BCP. I did and had a disastrous cycle. I even spoke with him about it before starting them (I had read that BCP are bad for DOR women) but he said it was the standard first cycle protocol. I had a cancelled cycle on day 11. Subsequent cycles I did EPP Antagonist and had success.

+1. I would have gone straight to donor egg. I don't care that I don't or wish I had a genetically related child, so trying regular IVF first just wasted my time. With DOR, your chances of success are really low with OE but really high with DE because usually egg quality is your only problem. I love my two beautiful DE babies (siblings not twins and from two different donors) and can't imagine having any different kids.

This is exactly the debate I'm having with myself (and my husband) right now. Try on my own with very low odds, or go straight to DE which I'm totally comfortable with. It's just an unconventional decision to go straight to a donor if you have even one egg left and haven't tried to use it.
