What Keurig should I buy?

Anonymous
Can't compare the car argument because unfortunately we live in a culture that pretty much requires cars (metro sucks often), but many people try to look at gas mileage at least.
Coffee makers are not essential, but deliberately buying one that adds millions of plastic cups to the environment every freaking day is stupid and selfish.

I like my 2.0. I use the reusable cup for enviro, cost, variety reasons. I don't know the other one so can't compare. I'm happy with mine.

I am curious - why the eyeroll? Is it because you don't believe Keurigs are terrible for the environment? That you believe that, but don't care? That you don't believe any such concerns are relevant to the decision? That you have contempt for people who have those concerns?

Use your words, sweetie, and help us to understand. If my 4 yo can do it, so can you.

You don't have to use the k cups. You can use your own coffee in a reusable filter.

OP I am the PP who suggested icoffee. I have a keurig and I love it but my father is a tech geek and he recently got the icoffee. I tried it out and I did honestly taste a better brew from it. Could have been because it was new but that's why I suggested just looking into it. I will go icoffee when my keurig dies.

I would stick with another K40 or similar if you can.

We had a similar model and liked it a lot. Unfortunately, after a cross-country move and sitting in storage for a year, it had stopped working by the time we unpacked it. Luckily, Keurig is pretty good about replacing broken units if it's still under warranty, although it did take a few tedious phone calls and jumping through their weird troubleshooting hoops.

Anyway, I say stick with the K40 because I hate the 2.0 they replaced ours with. It is sooo much slower than our old one, brews tiny cups (max 10 oz I think, and even then I swear mine only brews like 8). Hate that thing.
