How much did (will) your lottery change from year to year?

Curious as to what about the school has you feeling this way?

We entered for about 7 schools for ps3, and we loved the school. We have not entered in the past four years, nor are we planning to this year. There have been bumps, but I'm so glad that we have ridden them and continue to do so.

Did your child come from an immersion school? How was the transition?

We came from a HRCS, not immersion. The language learning is fine- the problem lies with the inability to manage problem behaviors effectively within the classroom. This is apparent in multiple grades, not just my DC classroom. The kids are the casualty of an ineffective administration. Lots of well intentioned people, but unable to commit to the sacrifice in actual educational areas over the long term.

Will you have your former charter elsewhere on list or will you stick it with MV if you don't get into new #1?

Wow - 3 schools in 3-4 years seems like a lot.

Totally agree that 3 schools in 4 years is a lot. We fully expected to join the MV community for the next five or so years. With that in mind, it was not so difficult to leave our cherished HRCS behind.

However, when DC is not feeling safe, and with reason, and behaviors change negatively, this is the right step for this family. Hopefully others are not faced with similar situations at this school, or others.

Happy MV parent here, sorry to hear things aren't working out. We've been there two years (DC is a first grader) and haven't had any issues. I am curious as to what happened or didn't happen. It seems like the school is really making an effort this year to address problem behaviors in some classes. Is it one or two kids in your child's class? What steps would you take if you were in the administration?

So if you don't get into #1, you'll stay at MV?

Sounds like the unhappy MV poster is in K or above (last year was third year of applying) so could move inbounds for a DCPS to guarantee admission.

OP-

Not quite sure what we will do. Keep on hearing more about how even more kids are being impacted by the lack of classroom management skills coupled with behavior concerns.

School announced a 2nd grade teacher was leaving. Wonder if K is far behind? These were the two classes brought up at school wide meeting.
