Age for The Good Dinosaur

It was scarier and more violent than I thought it would be. I went with an almost 4 yr old, two 7 yr olds and one 9 year old. There some tear jerking moments/scenes for them. But my 3 yr old tuned off at some point and wanted me to carry her. I also think it dragged on at some points. It didn't need to be as it was.

We just saw it and it was really cute.

I was considering this. Would the story be boring to a 3-4 year old? My kid knows nothing of crushes, etc

Both of my kids (almost four and 6) loved the Peanuts movie. My husband and I both fell asleep for a bit during it so...maybe not so exciting for the adults in the audience but it had no scary bits and lots of funny parts. I don't think my son paid much attention to the crush part.

It was definitely more violent than I expected. We took our 4.5yo and he was completely fine, but I would not have been surprised if he had gotten upset at several points. It's totally on me that I didn't do more thorough research in advance. I was blinded by hopefulness that Pixar + dinosaurs = magic.

DS said he loved it, but it wasn't a home run.

Sounds like a good learning experience for him. Never to early to toughen a kid up. Life sucks then you die.

I fell asleep during Peanuts too and I have never done that at the movies. My 4 year old said he enjoyed it, but I only heard him laugh once while watching. We both were more engaged during The Good Dinosaur.
