Smaller and conflict-free
Antique / vintage Birthstone or other stone I would not want a large stone of any sort. I work with a lot of low-income folks and it would look vulgar. |
You're paying for the brand. You can find Tiffany setting almost anywhere else and just pay for the loose stone and setting. |
No. If someone tries we say we are married and not interested. Metal and gem tchotchkes don't change that. |
| 1.1 is not that big. i have a 1 carat and its small relative to most of my friends. |
Good for you but not all women want that, need that, or care about that. An engagement ring should symbolize the love and commitment to each other, not act as token of competition between friends. I can't stand people who feel the need to keep up with the Jones and compare each other's haves-have nots. |
There are conflict-free diamonds mined in Canada. |
| Buy what YOU can comfortably afford. My preference would be the smaller conflict free stone. Spend the extra cash on an awesome over the top honeymoon instead. |
Sure they do, because most people look at a ring finger first before thinking of hitting on the opposite sex. |
|
Remember that the definition of conflict free simply means that the sale of the diamond was not used to fund war against an established government. It has nothing to do with being environmentally friendly or treating workers well, etc.
Personally, I'd go with lab created. 100% guilt free and also cheaper so you get a bigger stone. Look up Takara diamonds. |
| 100% conflict free from a reputable source, I have a Tiffany diamond mined in Australia at a mine that is owned by Tiffanys so I know it's source didn't find any conflicts. |

That's a feature, not a bug. |
Not sure what your point of posting is, but correct, real lab diamond brands include Gemesis, Apollo, Sona, Takara, and Chatham. |

Carats
at this point in my life I might take a 1CT + fake over a real 1/2 carat stone |
What point in life is that and why? |
