Ideas for one-night romantic getaway within 2-3 hrs drive of DC

If you only have one night and roughly two days, why waste 4-6 hours in a car. Just get a nice room in DC and Make dinner reservations at a place you have been wanting to go.
If you go somewhere with a lot to do you feel like you have to cram stuff in and it will not be relaxing. Get a room minimize the stress. You both will be glad you did.

I completely disagree. VB is an actual city with stuff to do year round. Unlike OC, it is a big city but has a nice small town/suburban quality. But if you spend all your time at the resort area you won't see it.

We do stay cation when we have that. Book night at nice hotel downtown, stroll free museums and eat at one of the restaurants in Washingtonian magazine...
