It’s hit or miss depending on the classroom/teacher. Diamond as a whole school is much more crowded than it was years ago due to new construction. So the small, cozy feel is gone — it’s just another overcrowded ES building with portable classrooms.

The kids are mainstreamed most of the day. They spend a smaller portion of the day in a self contained classroom.

If you have a child that just needs a little extra support to regulate and is fine mainstream then it’s great.

If your child has other behaviors (meltdowns, destroying things), sensory issues, anxiety, and struggle in a large mainstream class then it may not be a fit.

Is there an alternate program for a kid in the county that is prone to meltdowns?
