What did the BEST houses give out on Halloween?

I remember one house gave out those fluorescent colored drinks in a plastic barrel...hugs? Is that what they were called? I had a blue one and was pretty impressed.

Imagine the uproar if someone dared to give those out this year in upper NW.

?? Explain please ??

HUGS! Those were truly gross, but I loved them.

I'm pretty sure there would be some pissed off parents if their kids came home with candy cigarettes.

My favorites were necco wafers, pixie sticks, and chuckles!

No idea - we really don't put that much thought into these things.

A house gave out super ropes. That was great.

As a kid, we always appreciated the houses that gave out money....

I loved Nerds. The pink and purple were the best.

I love candy. My faves were reeses pb cups (esp the minis), mounds, candy necklaces and rings, "dots" (the colored candy dots stuck on a strip of paper), and, drum roll please ... those little wax bottles with super sweet liquid inside!

Money - my neighbors would always have a big bowl full of change and each kid got to take a handful!

Full sized anything (but esp, Reeses cups) and a couple houses had little bags stuffed with goodies (i.e., candy corn, gum, stickers, and mini bars). That was THE house to hit.

when I was little, one woman gave out little bags of homemade cookies to the kids she knew personally. When I was smaller, I found this a little disappointing (Halloween was our only source of candy), but later I came to appreciate it.
