Ah - a mudroom. I do not have one and would love one, but they don't come in my neighborhood![]() A saw a 2-3 tiered boot/shoe holder thing - it has a base on the floor with 2-3 rotating circles with clips to hold boot and shoes but would work well for damp mittens and hat too. Those over-the-door shoe holder pockets are good for storing dry hats and gloves A big floor matt with good absorption is nice too |
We had a small coat closet, no mudroom, and I hung a fabric shoe rack in there and the kids stuffed mittens and hats in the little shoe slots. |
We have a bench and underneath it have a shoe tray for the seasonal shoes and a cloth basket for hats, gloves, mittens, etc. |
I have a basket by the door. |
Hanging "sweater" organizer in hall closet. Each person gets a cubby for hats, gloves, etc. |
Bought a wooden picnic basket, painted it to match the hall décor, put it on a small chest. |
You can hang bins on hooks for gloves. |
We don't have a mudroom, a front hall, a foyer or a coat closet. We do have hooks on the wall behind the front door for coats, a shoe rack for shoes and boots and an old wood dresser that holds a bin for each person's stuff in the drawers and a basket for mail on top. Works for now but we haven't hit the teenage years yet! |
