We did Vegas for our 40th bdays and it was so fun and staying in that budget. Flights on Southwest, hotels are not that expensive, the rest spent on food, spa and shopping. When we did it, the men with us did some sort of thing at the Hoover Dam, ladies at the spa but there are outside hiking and other options nearby.

Little Cayman or Grand Turk.

Costa Rica is pretty affordable and safe and doable for a 5-day trip. That was my first thought.

Another thought is a cruise. You can hit a few places that way.

Montreal/Quebec isn't a bad idea. The US dollar is strong against the CAN$ so that would work in your favor. Montreal is an awesome, lively city. And Quebec City is historic and quaint.

check out cheapcarribean.com -- there are great packages at all inclusive places. We've been several places. Loved St. Lucia.

Totally Bermuda - super quick flight from East Coast (like 1.5 hours from DC if I remember correctly); would be warm and beautiful that time of year. Resorts are kind of expensive but there are less expensive options and you could do outdoorsy stuff plus also lie on the beach/go shopping.

Bermuda in late may/june is great. Bermuda is EXPENSIVE though when you are there. you have to cab everywhere, things are far apart and the nice resorts are really expensive. food was expensive and bland. beaches are amazing, sailing and golf are great.

Amingari - Utah. I'm a beach/water person and I think it looks awesome - I'd do it in a heartbeat!

What about a cruise? Beach, booze and spa.

Or Vegas?

Or Quebec? Check out the Fairmont. It's sort of like Europe.

Iceland?

London or Paris? Take a day trip/bus tour to the country.

Ireland is supposed to be fun--cool people, great pubs. I recently saw a 5 day package for $1k.

I'd rent a beach house in St John - you could get something fabulous in that price range and it's a pretty awesome island.
