OP. I could have written your post when the kids were that age. Throw n the lessons I learned during some tough times over the next few yars and I saw my mom's role in creating that dynamic, and it did not reflect well on her.
She did a lot of great things to earn her reputation as super grandma when they were little. I give her that. But as the kids got older, I discovered that she was undermining and enabling. Kids love her to death, but I can tell you that I won't be grand parenting that way... I know you aren't me, but I will ask: does your mom treat you like an adult and respect boundaries in areas of your life that are not the kids? |
