| I got into pack-n-play Sunday (as joke on 3 year old) and it didn't break! But I've never gotten in the crib. I weigh 110? 105? |
|
I did, but weighed probably 100lbs at the time. It was a smallish crib from BabieRUs, can't remember the brand. I sit regularly in the toddler bed, the Stokke convertible crib, to read to the kids. Doesn't seem to hurt it. |
| I did many times, and it worked fine. I was about 140 pounds. It wasn't comfortable because I was all squished up, but it held the weight fine. My DH did not ever do it, but mostly due to his height, not weight. |
| My husband does, often, (at our toddler's request) and he weights about 180. It's a Bellini brand. That being said, the mattress looks like it's starting to sag a bit... |
| I also slept occasionally in the crib. About 120 pounds. Ours was an old workhorse crib from the 1980s made by Basset out of American hardwood cherry and steel, though. Don't know if I'd do it in the quick growth rubberwood and plastic ones they sell nowadays -- you might just weaken the wood/plastic so that it will give out sometime that you aren't in the crib. |
| I've done it a few times, I'm 110lbs but did it when pregnant at 140lbs too! Crib still intact. |
| No. Was never even tempted! |
| I had no idea that so many parents were climbing into cribs! I've never thought about it!! |
Sometimes your kid asks and it's better than starting a tantrum or you're feeling playful that morning when they do ask and you go sure why not. So you hop in play with the various stuffed animals for a few minutes with them and then hop out and everyone is happy. I've done it a couple of times I weigh 140. |
Yes this. It has never once crossed my mind. I do have a good sleeper though... |
| Yep. IKEA (crib converted to toddler bed), 140 pounds. I'm careful, but haven't had any problems. Never did it when it was a crib. |
| Why would you do this? |
| So strange. Where do your legs fit? |
Me either! What am I missing- why would you do this? I can't imagine crawling into a crib let alone sleeping in one. I am 5'10", which is tall for a woman but many many men are taller than me and some have said DHs have done this- why? |
| Huh. I've never gotten into a crib as an adult but I recently sat on my nephew's toddler bed while reading to him & my sister freaked out & said it could have broken. I only weigh 95 pounds (so combined with my nephew's weight of about 30 lbs, there was still only 125 lbs of human weight on the bed) but, since my own kids just moved straight from cribs into twin beds, I just assumed that she was right & toddler beds & cribs aren't designed to hold more than the weight of a small child. Maybe it depends on the brand? I think my nephew's bed is from Target. |
