My ILs talk to anyone who will listen. So I take them places and they chat with random people so I get a break. They do not sit on iPads or nap. Or help or hang out with kids. They just talk constantly. |
MIL sits with iPad; DH will work from home if his schedule allows. She generally ignores the kids, minus about 5 minutes per day. We always eat out or pick up/order in when she's here. I don't cook for her, or take her sightseeing. She's probably not going to come here anymore due to failing health, which is OK by me and DH - kids too. |
+1. The first years I stayed home and tried everything possible to make it pleasant for my MIL. She always found a way to insult me or just whisper with FIL. I will never do it again after reaching my breaking point. Either DH works from home or stays home or they don't come. DH agreed. |
Omg I'd kill myself....a MONTH? |
Yes DH takes time off but we try to only allow visit over a weekend with one work day missed on Friday or Monday |
