That's absolutely ridiculous. It's a 14 yr old watching TV and then putting them to bed, not an experienced nanny who is trying to make a living. Good grief. No wonder so many early 20somethings have completely unrealistic expectations for their salaries in the job market. They often literally have HR staff laughing about it. Some seriously need to learn how hard it is to earn money. |

Mom of three here.
The ten year old will be helpful and require almost no work. Two preschoolers in that age range will require a TON of work, especially with bedtime thrown in. I would expect to pay at least ten/hour (NOVA) rounded up to the nearest five-ten dollars (depending on the bills in my purse). This would not go up or down based on the third child (ten year old) for the reasons above. She is sitting for the little ones. For the preteen, she is the "responsible person in case of an emergency". |
An experienced nanny would charge $25 an hour for three kids. |
