Starting Daycare with 6 month old

your child is at a great age to start daycare! my DS started at 5 months...too early to freak out about separation or stranger anxiety.

i disagree about quick drop-offs, though. my husband and i do the drop-off together (and pickups). and we always stay until we know our DS is settled and about to have some fun (he likes to walk to the kitchen with his teacher since he's the first one in). he's 20 months now and he RARELY squawks when we leave.

also, our experience has been that our son was held a LOT more than people told us to expect. when they are that little, and not mobile, the teachers usually enjoy rocking them and fussing over them. our son got tons of attention (all the younger babies do).

the hardest part, after the first day, is getting all the crap together for the day. just do it the night before and you'll be all set.
