What businesses hire teens for work?

I've tried calling around to various DC agency to ask this question and no one can give be a definitive answer. So frustrating!

You're joking, right? Take your kid to fast food places, grocery stores, and retail stores and let them talk to the manager, ask if they're hiring, ask if they hire HS kids, and ask for an application. Seriously, this isn't rocket surgery folks. Getting a job is a big step towards being an independent adult and YOU'RE calling agencies for them? Kinda defeats the purpose IMHO.

Personally, we waited until our oldest could drive because I'll be damned if I'm running him to and from a part time job in addition to all the other extracurriculars. But if your kid wants a job, help teach them how to go about it themselves. Its one of those life skills they need to learn.

Well for most kids that work, that is their extracurricular. Some kids need money and not depend on Mommy and Daddy to do it. You are slamming the OP about independence but yet you chauffeur your kids around until they are 16/17 and pay for all their extra curriculars, clothes, hobbies and fun weekends.
