Precisely. If FCPS can't see the writing on the wall, then they're simply ignoring the vast majority of tax payers.

FCPS is not run by the vast majority of taxpayers.

Thank you for posting this.

The capacity of the supposedly intelligent parents of purportedly gifted students to come across as completely and utterly tone-deaf apparently knows no bounds. I support AAP but this petition is appalling.

It really is. My jaw dropped when I read it. The ego of the person (or people) who wrote it is staggering.

I support this petition. All children should be able to receive support to learn at their own pace. Some go quickly, some need more time, and some go fast in some areas and slower in others. There's nothing wrong with nurturing learning.

So you are in favor of robbing peter (non-aap) to pay paul? That is what the petition is doing -- wanting to transfer funds rather than increase funds.

Some people just think there's an endless pot of money, even when there isn't. The only place kids can truly learn at their own pace in a public system is at home.

Absolutely! Which is why all of these educational opportunities should be OPEN TO ALL.

You are being obtuse here. It does not help those seeking to avoid cutbacks in your platinum plan during a budget crisis..
