Best Birth Control for Post-Kids

OP here. That was my view. We don't have sex much and I can't get pregnant without IVF. What are the odds that on the rare occasion that we do it, I'm ovulating (which I usually don't), it is a good quality egg (which it usually isn't), and I get pregnant. I was willing to roll the dice, but if DH isn't, I respect that. I'm just not going to track ovulation and think about it as part of my daily life.

Yeah, I have a friend who had extreme difficulty getting pregnant the first time and needed multiple rounds of IVF. Her second child was conceived totally without medical assistance. It's unlikely, but not impossible. I'd talk to your doctor about an IUD, either Mirena or Paraguard. Both have pros and cons, of course, so it's not obvious which one will be best for you.

2. If you TTCed for 10 years and ended up needing IVF, you may be safe just to go without, as long as you're not opposed to letting nature decide the issue of a third kid. This is what I would do.

The pill messed me up, I had horrible cramps and acne without anything, mirena is my happy medium.
I also have PCOS

Does the paraguard give you heavier periods? I"ve heard that it can.

I have the implant now and am hoping things regulate soon. It's been 3 months (supposed to wait 6). I have a ton of breakthrough bleeding.

Love my mirena.

I love my Mirena IUD. It lasts for 5 years, so you can have it removed if you want one more kid.

No issues here at all - I haven't had a period since I got it, and no other side effects. It is unsettling to not have some sort of monthly sign that I'm not pregnant, though.
