It could be worse. My uncle, aunt and their kids created quite the scandal in our bible thumping family when they started practicing the Lakota Sioux religion. My aunt was introduced to it (and the culture) by a close friend of hers who is a tribe member. Imagine my grandmother's shock when they started participating in the annual Sun Dance!

You have a wonderful son and you have received the guidance you prayed for. You're just not seeing it. Your son is showing you what you're supposed to do: trust what you see in him and what you know of his heart. You're being guided to a new challenge, which is to witness your son's journey and have faith that his morality, his intellect, and the good start you've given him will serve him well.

Taking this much too seriously OP; he is a young man and he trusts you enough to tell you what he currently believes. if you push it too much, he will probably not tell you anything else and pull away from you. Just keep praying for him; with time and life experience he will be drwn towards his own spiritual path, whatever than may be.
