did you cut out all caffeine during IVF?

"Study that came out last year links caffeine use to miscarriage:

Yes, but that study clearly states that this link is with high amounts of caffeine, and the NIH says low amounts are okay. Plus, the study was of how much caffeine a women had during her first 20 weeks of pregnancy, not how much was consumed during the TTC period and whether it affected fertility treatments.

These studies may show that small amts of caffeine are okay while TTC or pg, but every woman's body is different.

For example, medicine and drugs affect my body wayy more severely than for other women. When I drink caffeine, it stays in my body for a longer time. When I even take advil it has a longer lasting effect on my body.

While TTC and while pg I tried my best to eliminate all unnecessary junk from my diet, including sodas, caffeine, chips, added sugar, too much preservatives, too much gluten, white flour. I increased my antioxidants also. I started taking fish oil as well.

I wanted total peace of mind in knowing I had done and tried everything to get pg. So if it didn't work, I could say at least I gave it my best try.

I was on this diet for about 6 mos and I got pg at the age of 42.

I found that there were some alternatives to caffeine, such as a glass of orange juice or just going to bed one hour earlier sometimes.

I understand that some women need and want caffeine, however, and I'm not trying to say that they were wrong to drink caffeine while TTC or pg. I'm just saying that drugs affect people's bodies differently and if you want that total peace of mind in knowing you did everything possible in TTC, then best thing is to give it up.

Has anyone 40 or over had a successful IVF while drinking coffee? I just started the process and my first IVF cycle was cancelled because I didn't produce enough follicles (only 2). I am 41 with an FSH of 7.7 and an antral follicle count of 8. I am doing accupuncture and following all the fertility diet recommendations, but am finding it hard to give up my 1 cup of coffee in the morning...

thanks!
