Don't do it. Agree that there is not point in this stuff unless it actually hokds meaning for you--it's just more shit to dust! Frame some photos from your travels/of your family/the baby, and leave some (most) shelves empty. |
I've gotten some great stuff at the Georgetown Flea Market on Sunday mornings. |

+1...and also Joss and Main |
Exactly. I can't believe someone wants to buy meaningless crap and have it sit around. |
I agree, although if you insist on doing this OP, I would suggest going to estate sales in the dc area, where you can find amazing stuff from other people's world travels instead of generic homegoods or TJMaxxx crap. |
I like west elm for this. |
I would recommend a Marshalls or a Ross store.
Also, if you have the time a good consignment or thrift shop would work too. I have found some amazing things in thrift shops. However, it takes more time invested since you will have to go through some garbage to find the true treasures. (Kind of like having to kiss a lot of frogs before finding your prince!) |
Archie McPhee.
Really, OP, you have a newborn and you are looking for ways to spend money on clutter? Sleep deprivation must be taking over. |
In addition to all the good ideas above, try Etsy for unique items. |
For what you're describing I would say world market but honestly go to a thrift store or antique store and find something with a bit more meaning. |
