I think our hamster is dying

Yes, Op. How did the vet go?

OP here. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, and for your continued interest. I was worried that she was breathing so rapidly and not moving a lot. But our hamster, Piggie, is ok. Nothing specific found on exam. So, no medical intervention needed. She lives in a 3-level habitat so it was recommended we put the water bottle and food dish on the same level as her bed for ease of access. She is getting old (2.5 years old) and slowing down. Also recommended to adjust her diet to make eating and digestion easier. She looked better this morning so we continue to keep a close eye on her. I'd include a pic but have no idea how to do it. Thanks again everyone!

Thank you for the update, Op! It's great to hear that Piggie got a good check up and is more herself today.

Thanks for the update. We took our gerbil to Pender, and it has recovered too! We use Pender for our poodle, and they saved his life when he had bloat and complete stomach rotation. That was a Hell of a night. It was expensive, but I had to save his life.
