Which PG school (public or private) puts kids on Ivy track best?

I don't fully agree. The high school does matter a lot. There is a reason schools like TJ in Alexandria have such a good reputation. But, yes the kid still needs to to have the drive and desire.

I've interviewed for an Ivy League school in this area for a while. While the individual student's drive matters most, they have a much better chance if they attend a school that will give them a certain minimum level of preparation. They don't necessarily need to go to TJ, which does well at least in part because they use admissions screening tools that resemble the admissions process of selective colleges.

As for the person that suggested that AA applicants are the recipients of affirmative action, if you haven't met any AA students with perfect SATs, come to an Ivy League college's admitted students' reception sometime, and we will introduce you. There are plenty of such applicants in this area.
