Forget the educational consultant and spend the money on getting a tutor for the ISEE or SSAT. High test scores from a good DCPS will get your child in easier than a consultant. (At least it did for us!)

Yes, you should definitely invest in a tutor for SSAT/ISEE. You cannot expect your child to test in the same percentile as they do on the standardized tests they take in DCPS. (Some do, many do not.)

I would also keep an open mind about working with an EC. You can always start with the least expensive option, akin to a take-in interview, and see if they seem worth their fees. Every situation is different!
