Cannot fall asleep naturally at a reasonable time -- what do you recommend?

Another recommendation for valerian. Very effective. Use the whole herb extract by Gaia in the gel tabs. The extract itself smells vile, so the kind that comes in the dropper bottle is not a good idea, but you won't smell or taste the herb if you take the gel tablets.

I usually take just one melatonin right before I go to bed. I start feeling naturally sleepy within 20 minutes or so. And no, you feel perfectly normal in the morning - not a drugged feeling at all (and I'm very sensitive to medication).

I take one xanax at bedtime. Helps me to shut down my over active, over worried brain.

a glass or half glass of red wine 30 min - to an hour before bed.
