Not all large employers in Maryland are required to include coverage for IVF. If a large employer decides to self-insure (which many do) they are not required to follow the Maryland mandates. Only fully-insured plans, i.e., an employer who procures insurance through an insurance company, are required to include the IVF mandate. Employers who self-insure may choose to provide the benefit, but they aren't required to.
The State of Maryland (which self-insures and is not subject to the mandate) covers IVF for state employees. |
