How to replicate Ross's success?

Which high school? There is no affiliation with SWW for applications.

Other interesting fact for the mix. The testing grades (3 & 5) last year were overwhelmingly OOB kids. So it's not primarily about rich Dupont Circle families (yet). The school has only just gone majority IB in 2014/15 and this won't flow through to the testing grades for another few years.

No, but the school has seen a major change of staff and admin since SWW took over. There has been some negative feedback from high school families but it has been a win for the PK-8 school which is doing well. I would go as far as saying FS@SWW is the next Ross.

The MS as well?

It's my understanding that the school is still 80% OOB and although the neighborhood is full of young families, unlike Ross the boundary will never support having enough kids to fill up from IB.

Ross is tiny and aren't the parents pretty involved?

Are any Ross families even going to FS?

That is especially impressive then. I imagine those testing grades skew higher than the overall 25% FARM rate as well. So what's the schools secret?

Very involved parents, active PTA, principal who uses full budget for FT & supplemental instructional staff. As far as OOB families, many are just a few streets out due to Ross's very small & odd shaped boundary line.

OK, but aren't these 3 & 5th grade "OOB" kids from 1/2 mile away in Logan, Shaw, Foggy Bottom, Adams Morgan and the like? Outwardly, they aren't dissimilar from the Dupont condo kids living 4 blocks away.

This school is 70% AA. Do you think they come from Logan and Adams Morgan?

Not sure where your numbers are from, but DCPS says Ross is 16% Black for the current school year.
