Hs Senior Failing Class

Well, the class is pre-calculus and he doesn't need it to graduate (already has required three credits of math, plus an extra credit from AP Stats, plus the half credit from the first semester which he passed) so for high school it doesn't really matter but nervous about the offer of admission being rescinded.

This is a real concern if the college requires final transcript to be submitted. Which college?

I doubt those three colleges were top 25....perhaps even top 50.

You are correct, but I doubt a kid who gets into those is going to get any Fs.
Your snarky point is moot.

Fordham, but apparently he will not be rescinded.

Not a proud moment but it happens.

He said, "At what point do you rescind offers?", they said back "As long as you don't have anything below a C, you're good," he said, "Well, I may fail this class, is my offer of admission in jeopardy?" and they said, something along the lines of thank you for being proactive about the situation, you may be followed up with a letter this summer asking to explain what happened but your admission is not in jeopardy.

NP here. Senior who is going to college on athletic scholarship was told by college admissions counselor that short of the incoming freshman killing someone, the colleges really does not rescind offers.

Same thing happened with my son last year. Final math grade ended up being an "F". My concern was that he'd lose the merit scholarship he'd been offered at the university.

Fortunately, even with the "F", his overall GPA did not fall below what was required for the scholarship.

So he maintained the scholarship and his acceptance was not in jeopardy.

BTW: We never contacted the school to bring it to their attention. We knew they'd receive his final transcript.
