My son said that the blacks, hispanics, and whites mix it up pretty well at his college (in the cafeteria this is obvious). He said that the only group that keeps to itself is the Asian group.

What gives with that? Maybe that's why the others target them? When you keep to yourselves, it's hard for others to understand you.

As an Asian, I have friends of different races. But, I immigrated here as a 2 hr old, back in the 70's. From what I have observed of Asians, I think a lot of Asians stick to themselves because, in larger numbers, they are the newest immigrants in this country, and the culture is different than Western culture. I think if you give it 50 yrs or so, you will things change. The Asian people I know that are much more "westernized" have friends of different races. It's the 1st, and sometimes, 2nd generation Asian that mainly stick to themselves. But, I don't think this any different than when the Italians, Polish, Germans, etc.. first started to immigrate in larger numbers to the US. People tend to stick to what they know, what they are comfortable with.

What kind of parents immigrate with a 2 hr old baby? Was getting a head start on all the other children really THAT important?

And you wonder why people look askance at the Asians at TJ.

Just can't wait to find something negative with Asians to pounce on? Asians are indeed targeted more than blacks "on here". Maybe it was meant to be "2 yr old".

This TJ picture confuses me..

How come not even 1% in the picture has asians, while more than 60% are asians at TJ..

Only White's play sports at TJ ?

Of course not, dear racist troll. That picture is of mostly seniors and some juniors from 2012 when the percentage of Asians in those classes was much lower than it is now.

My dearest, NON-RACIST troll, check this statistics before you make a useless post..

About two-thirds of the incoming class is Asian, while about one-fourth is white. That’s a dramatic shift from five years ago, when white students made up more than half of TJ’s freshmen.

The “smartest” student body in the country - doesn’t mean it is the “beret high school.” Hand select 60% Asians and yeah, you’re going to have some pretty high SAT scores.

If white parents start caring about TJ again- it'll shift back.

.. Here is in 2009. Still 50% or non whites, but they don't play sports as shown in picture ??

Asians became the school's largest racial group in 2009-2010, at 46.38%, while whites comprised 43.63% of the population. In contrast, blacks and Hispanics comprise a much smaller percentage of the student body (<4%) than is present in the populace of the participating localities (approx. 10% and 16%, respectively).

I suppose it's is around that time families started putting more value in a more well rounded, and traditional high school experience.

I suppose it's around that time white families began to realize their snowflakes who "thrived" in AAP were not "gifted" and they didn't really want to compete with bright and hardworking Asian Americans.

I thought the thread was inane; hence the satire based on an obvious typo.

But you're kind of an idiot to think the thread isn't about TJ, regardless of what you chose to post.
